Functionally this device is made as a meter in which the value of the nominal diameter is compensated for the purpose of measurement of the total depth of two diametrically located flutes.
The meter of the diameter works as follows: the generator provides a variable signal which is given to one of windings of the converter of movements, from other winding an induced signal proportional to change of controlled diameter is picked up, and this signal comes after the corresponding processing to the recording unit.
The measuring unit of the device is made as a cylindrical bar from which end face there is a measuring body. On a surface of a bar and its guides a centering carriage is moved. At accomplishment of measurements the flange of the centering carriage is fixed at an end face of the controlled cylinder and then the bar with the measuring body is moved in relation to the carriage to the fixed value for accomplishment of measurement in controlled section. All controlled sections of the cylinder are measured in this way. A converter of movements placed in the body transforms the radial moving of measuring rollers to an electric signal.
